I envisioned the décor of Lido 2 as a celebration, a shiver, a glimmer, a sensation of artistic pleasure; transforming it into a sort of Parisian Broadway where Cabaret tradition meets the future of immersive performance orchestrated by Jean-Luc Choplin. I toy with the codes of cabaret as well as those of architectural and decorative theatre culture to illuminate the living spaces of this legendary venue that’s undergoing a transformation. Onyx comes alive and crystal sparkles, twisted and reimagined for an interactive world and today’s technology. The concept involves a visual experience that will make the international audience’s hearts race, allowing them to wander and enjoy the spaces that lead to the show.
I took great pleasure in merging decorative art details with the dynamics of our era. I played with the warmth of noble materials like polished wood, brass, mosaic, and marbles in golden hues, as well as the comfort of velvet and carpet with large, vibrant color patterns. It’s all about creating “A LIVING ROOM AS A THEATRE”
